We always strive to create the best user experience for our end-users in the core of our practice. A complete digital experience comes with a seamless blend of all our services such as a graphical User Interface (UI), Marketing Strategy and Software Engineering. We take responsibility to maintaining a high standard in everything we do for the quality we deliver, and User Experience is no exception.
We kick-off all our projects with the Discovery phase, where we perform our initial research to fully understand the client’s needs and the end-users. This is where User Experience takes the first step into becoming a full-grown interactive website.
Creating User Personas, gathering and analysing information
Structuring gathered information into a sensible arrangement
A visual representation of IA into a minimal black & white interface
Turning the static wireframe into a functional interactive prototype
Our UI/UX Digital Designers are in charge of designing each page or screen with a consistent design language by creating a cohesive style guide. We believe that the best UX designer must also possess UI design skills. Our team of UI/UX specialists are responsible for designing both the UI and UX with the primary intention to increase conversions. UX is a skill that can also be acquired by non-designers, such as product managers, web developers, digital marketers and even copywriters. At BLEND, even though UX is primarily handled by our UI/UX specialists, all of us contribute to the process of crafting unique online and mobile user experiences.
Designing unique experiences requires reliable and realistic data. We kick off our Discovery phase by gathering information and then create a series of characters based on our clients’ real target audience. Each character or persona represents a different group of users. We then identify patterns that emerge from our research and identify the overlapping trends to understand the behaviour of each persona. The basic information we gather for a User Persona are:
Information Architecture helps users navigate and search for products, services and information. After we have gathered all our data and created our user personas, it’s time to organize our content, visual elements, functionality, interaction and navigation, in a logical and friendly structure. We catalogue all our pages, create the sitemap and then design the flow that users are going to navigate through. Our goal is to increase conversions, so we make sure usability, navigation and organization of data are properly organized. This results in higher SEO rankings which lead to more users, thus even higher conversions.
This is where our UI/UX specialists start to create the blueprints of your website. Wireframing is a fun and creative process, which helps all stakeholders understand the basic layout of pages and how everything comes together. Information Architecture (IA) is instrumental in identifying which pages, features and functionalities are going to be used, whereas wireframing is used to identify in more detail, the positioning of features, functionalities, navigation, content and conversion areas for each page. Do you know that wireframes can be designed at multiple levels? We typically start with the simplest tool – a pencil. We sketch a very basic wireframe and then we use several tools to elevate the designs to a higher level, where we can identify accurate positioning for several features and functionalities.
Interactive prototyping helps our UI/UX designers become more efficient in their work. We use interactive mock-ups to test and experiment with different ideas and concepts on our designs. It also gives our clients a view of their website or mobile app in action. This benefits us in so many ways, as we can get user feedback much earlier in our design process, fixing serious errors from the beginning, reducing our design budget and also limit our expenses in web development. Our tool for creating prototypes is Adobe XD and Invision. With Adobe XD, we can design our wireframes to a higher detail and then add interactions and animations, so that it can be comparable to the final product.
This is where your brand shines, your products and services stand-out, the User Experience dramatically increases, and your website functionalities look and feel perfect. Our UI/UX team of designers are very passionate about their user interfaces. They are first and foremost graphic designers in nature, but with a deep knowledge and understanding of websites in the digital world. We carefully craft what it takes to elevate the quality of your website presence. From the treatment of imagery to the craft of a fully customized CTA button. We carefully craft fully custom icons, illustrations, infographics and other user interface design elements such as sliders, checkboxes and radio buttons. All these design elements are then placed in a unified Web Style Guide, which is used for consistency throughout the product and to provide our web developers the guidance they need to build the website in HTML and CSS.
