For the 6th year in a row we were tasked to continue elevating digitally the Stoli Bar & Club Awards in Cyprus presenting the most original venues on the island. We were additionally assigned to continue handling the competition and promotion of the event.
Carrying the past years of experience and well versed with the Stoli beloved brand, we not only managed to set the event apart amidst the fierce competition in its beverage category. Moreover, we made it shine through an improved brand positioning, a fresh new event website, increased public engagement, as well as via live coverage and digital installations.

This year BLEND re-designed and re-developed the voting website of the event with an improved user experience, for both desktop and mobile. We also re-thought the structure of the site and user flow ensuring that users could complete the voting procedure until the very end with ease. To promote the competition, Stoli organised a series of events at bars and cafes. During the events promo girls used tablets to promote the website, register users, and introduce the competition and the new voting system along with the big award for voting. This included an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas.
From a digital perspective the major push and promotion raised for the event was made via their 3 social media; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We centred the promotion on a social media strategy which combined enticing posts, and social media advertising with striking banners.
In the pre-event process, we focused on Facebook where we encouraged users to vote their favourite venue. To facilitate this we utilised a clear content strategy with visually enticing posts. We additionally allocated sufficient budgets for Facebook advertising and message boosting to maximise the message reach.
The novelty that we injected this year was the creation of the Stoli GIF booth, placed strategically at the entrance of the event venue getting the invitees in the Stoli mood. People had the chance to create funny, interesting, and attention-grabbing animations by moving and posing as the pictures are taken in GIF format. They then had the chance to share the GIFs they created on their Facebook account, making these stand out.
In tandem with last year’s successful usage of hashtags, again this year we created the #StoliAwards2016. This action encouraged attendees to post selfies and relive the exciting moments throughout the event. Furthermore, we aggregated and displayed on a huge screen at the hall of the event all the social media activity, while it was moderated live. The result was more hype and more engagement during the event. It was rewarding to witness the the invitees share their personal Stoli moments through their social media and be part of the action.
During the event the entire BLEND team was there. We not only supported and celebrated the most original venues but also managed a live video streaming process through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for the benefit of the people missing this out.
During the month of the event impressions exceeded 550,000 with more than 6,400 engagements. This translates to an increase of 240.4% in engagement since the previous month; predominantly because of the promotion and hype behind the event itself. The result of the marketing mileage included a significant increase of the Instagram users by an impressive 500% due to the fact that we encouraged the use of the hashtag that we created for the event.
