Website design

A branding exercise took place, and only after we received the newly established brand guidelines, did we jump into the web design phase of the project. Upon analysing these to digest the new values and positioning of the client we started creating the look & feel of the AXIOS website. We deliberately selected a corporate black & white UI that brings out a higher level of authority and prestige. Additionally, we added sharp and skewed horizontal lines to separate different sections throughout the website design. In alignment to that, we placed dark corporate black & white imagery with sharp geometry on the hero of each individual page.

To enhance the user experience further, we integrated smoother animations and transitions. Whereas on the homepage we used a black & white background video that remains in position and upon scrolling appears behind all darker sections. Likewise, you can notice little subtle details such as the custom particle effect with floating labels that lead to each ecosystem. And we also created a custom careers accordion with vacancy pre-selection for easier form submission.

Responsive web design

AXIOS was a very interesting project in terms of responsive web design and element transitions. You can see the skewed content containers throughout the website that maintain their styling on responsive screen sizes, without compromising the quality nor user experience.

Website development

Despite the fact that the project covered only front-end development it was quite challenging to deliver high-end static templates that could be easily integrated by the AXIOS development team. Delivering the project on time combined with the level of difficulty and speed optimizations of the final product posed some challenges for our web developers in Nicosia. Not to mention the challenge encountered in the high-end particle animation with floating labels than upon click they trigger the relevant modal found in the “What We Do” template. Yet we did it! We managed the hover states for links, posts listings, parent pages and created some really cool button transitions too. We additionally optimized and validated each template for code syntax and speed.
